Review Summary:

If you are looking for a good 2-channel sound bar system at a good price, then the LG3540 is something that you should look into. With this system, the consumer gets sound that is rich and clear and it is a sound bar that is very easy to set up and operate. The only drawback is the lack of audio connecting options. You will want to make sure that your TV can connect through the optical cord or with the 3.5mm auxiliary jack.

With the LG NB3540, consumers get a nice 2.1-channel sound bar that offers an impressive array of features. Working in combination with the wireless subwoofer, this system will dramatically enhance the sound of your television for an experience that is much more immersive.

For speakers, this sound bar from LG has two 80W speakers in the enclosure and the 160W wireless subwoofer, for a system that has 320W of output. The sound bar enclosure looks great and it provides sound that is crisp and clear and the subwoofer adds the deep bass to provide the rumble for things like explosions.

The NB3540 comes with a range of audio presets and a 3D sound processor for simulated surround sound. The 3D sound does add nice depth to the experience, but you will not get as good of a surround experience as you would from a true surround sound system. For preset sound options, the user can choose from standard, cinema, sports, music, news and bass. The system also comes with dynamic range control and an auto volume leveler.

For getting the system set up and connected, the installation is pretty easy, but it does fall a little short in the number of connecting options. For connecting with a cord, the only options that you have are the optical cable and a 3.5mm auxiliary plug. For most modern TVs, this will be enough, but it would be nice if the system had an HDMI port or a plug for coaxial to provide the consumer with more options.

If you have a compatible LG TV, then the installation can be made even easier by connecting the system wirelessly. With this option, the user has no audio cables to run and the only plug that they need to worry about is the power supply. Connecting wirelessly adds convenience because it not only makes installation easier, but the sound bar can also be controlled by the remote from your LG television.

The Bluetooth on this system also allows the user to connect their mobile devices to the system. Pair your phone or tablet to the LG sound bar and you can wirelessly stream music from your devices. In addition to that, you can take music from and external hard drive and play it on the sound bar by plugging it in to the USB port.

This sound bar performs well in regard to ease of use. Devices pair easily through Bluetooth and all of the features and functions can be accessed with no problem when you use the remote. For further convenience, the user can also turn their tablet or Smartphone into a remote by downloading the LG AV remote app.
